A nationwide coffee bar rollout for Aviva
When Aviva and Direct Line came together, they wanted to celebrate across every office at once. That meant eight coffee bars, in eight cities, all running on the same day.
THE BRIEF
BaxterStorey, Aviva’s corporate hospitality provider, asked us to run coffee bars across eight Aviva offices: Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, London, Doncaster, Bristol, Birmingham and Glasgow. Each site needed one coffee bar with two baristas, set up the day before ready for service.
Consistency mattered most here. Every bar had to look and feel the same, whichever office you walked into.
ON THE GROUND
Each bar carried Aviva’s “We are Aviva” branding: bold navy, pink and yellow wraps, with cups to match. Every espresso-based drink – americanos, lattes, cappuccinos and the rest – was made with our own Northern Espresso blend, freshly roasted for the day. And of course, Yorkshire Tea was on hand too.
We regularly have several bars out across the country at once, but it’s less common for them all to be for one client. For Aviva, teams were working from Glasgow to Bristol, with every bar set up the day before ready to serve from 9am – 5pm.
As BaxterStorey’s contact couldn’t be on-site to check every setup in person, we sent photos from each location as the bars went up, giving them the chance to sign off before doors opened.
Each office got the same branded bar, cups and menu, so everything looked and felt consistent across the eight locations.

Sixteen baristas worked across the eight cities. Across the day, the teams served 2,253 drinks and got through roughly 150 bottles, or 300 litres, of milk.
- London: 491 drinks
- Leeds: 474 drinks
- Liverpool: 250 drinks
- Glasgow: 210 drinks
- Doncaster: 225 drinks
- Birmingham: 225 drinks
- Bristol: 208 drinks
- Manchester: 170 drinks
London was the busiest site with 491 drinks served, closely followed by Leeds with 474. Numbers varied across the offices, so we used Aviva’s expected staff figures to make sure each team arrived with the right amount of stock.
There’s always a bit of a buzz when so many of the team are working on the same job, even when they’re hundreds of miles apart. By the time the doors opened, the hard work had already been done: every bar was set up, stocked and signed off, leaving the teams to get on with serving.
